Your smartphone is your new camera and may also have other things you wish to share with others on a bigger screen. Have you tried connecting it to the TV using wire-free methods or do you use the USB connection instead?

I typically use the Roku 3 to show videos, pictures, music to my TV.

The chromecast can certainly help with that and is probably the cheapest route to go.

If you have an apple tv, you can use AirPlay or whatever that is called.

I've done it once or twice yes, but I don't see it as that worthwhile, so I rarely do it to be honest.

    Here (I think)
My fiancee has a phone with a mini HDMI connection on it. However, it doesn't really do anything our Roku/laptop can't do, and in worse quality at that. So really all it's useful for is just as a controller for a giant, HD version of Candy Crush Saga.
